Important Announcement Re: The Oxford Club Restaurant
Dear Members,
We feel it is important to keep our members informed about the decisions that impact on the club, its facilities, and your experience.
The last few years have presented various economic challenges, and the Restaurant has struggled to be profitable. The recent significant increases in food prices, wage costs and a decline in patronage has resulted in the financial losses incurred in the Club Restaurant becoming unsustainable.
In order to ensure the long-term stability of our club and its facilities the decision has been made to close the Restaurant as a Club run operation.
This means that when the Restaurant closes for Christmas on the 23rd of December it will not re-open on the 12th of January as previously advertised.
The Oxford Club will seek expressions of interest for a contractor to lease and operate the restaurant. We will be looking for a capable lessee who shares our commitment to offering great food at an affordable price in a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.
The Takeaways will continue to operate, we will be adding more options to the Bar Meals menu so you can still enjoy dining at the Club. The restaurant will be available by prior arrangement for functions and group bookings.
Overall, we believe the Club is in good-heart and we are positive about the Club’s future. We appreciate that times are tough at the moment and encourage you all to continue to visit and partake of the services that the Club provides as and when you can.
